Optical distribution cabinet with patch cables
Povinnost podle GIA platí od 12. 2. 2026 →

Optical infrastructure in the building. Completed, not deferred.

New builds and major renovations with building permits submitted after 12. 2. 2026 must have internal optical cabling and an access point. We prepare the project, handle engineering and ensure implementation.

Who needs us most often

Two situations, two different requirements: choose yours.

What we do

From assessing the requirements to handing over the network for operation.

Project assessment against GIA

We will review the existing documentation and identify what is missing under Article 10 of the Regulation, advising on the most cost-effective way to complete it. For ongoing projects, this is the quickest initial step.

Design documentation

All stages from study through DUR, DSP and DPS to as-built documentation. Optical and metallic networks, building distribution, structured cabling and low voltage.

Engineering services

Network operator statements, land and building permits, land takeovers and traffic measures, property rights for easements, surveying and final inspection. We handle all the paperwork.

Neutrality and operators

We will design the access point to allow multiple providers into your building. We assist with connection negotiations and review the contracts presented by operators.

Installation by our own staff

Building distribution, risers, penetrations, fibre welding, installation of distribution boards and OTO sockets. We carry out the installation ourselves. We are not an office that hands the project to an outside crew and then loses interest.

Measurement and handover

Certified OTDR measurement of each fibre, protocols, documentation and handover to the investor or operator. Basis for final inspection and fibre-ready marking.

The core of our work is design and engineering.

Documentation for all stages, coordination with authorities and network operators, property rights assurance, surveying, authorial and technical supervision. Not just optics, also structured cabling and low-voltage systems.

How we got here

It started when we had to sort it out ourselves.

We operate our own optical network in Prague 1. In this historic district where every building is over a century old, the basement contains all manner of services and the streets are within a protected heritage zone.

When we tried to bring the fibre into those houses, we found standard procedures insufficient. A project that looks clean on paper hits a load-bearing wall in such a building. And you cannot get past it by sending a sharper email.

We’ve learned our own way. How to route the line so no demolition is needed. How to negotiate land take and coordination so you don’t wait months. Where to leave room in the project, because in three years another operator will want access too.

Then others started asking, property managers, developers, industry professionals, if we could do the same for them. That’s how ProFTTH came about.

That is why with us design and installation are not two separate things. We draw what we then install ourselves, and we install according to what we know will last in operation.

Why choose us

We design and install.

ProFTTH is run by the operations team of a Prague internet provider. We design and install fibre optics ourselves. The project is based on what has proven effective in daily operations over years: any design errors would have to be fixed by us on site.

Legislation is our concern, not yours.

GIA, building permits, network operator statements, land takeovers, coordination. Daily practice. You receive a deliverable that passes the permit process, not a reference to a legal paragraph.

The house remains yours.

We are not an operator and do not want to tie your building to us. We design infrastructure that accommodates multiple providers, because exclusivity reduces the property’s value.

Frequently Asked Questions

From exactly when does the obligation apply?
From 12. 2. 2026. The decisive factor is the date of submission of the building permit application, projects submitted earlier do not fall under the new obligation. The regulation as a whole applies from 12. 11. 2025.
Does this apply to refurbishments too?
Yes, in the case of extensive reconstruction. This includes structural changes to the entire internal physical infrastructure or a significant part of it that require building permission.
What if it’s not in the project?
The sooner it is added, the cheaper it gets. In draft documentation it is just an extra trade; in a finished build it means chasing grooves and adding new penetrations. We review documentation free of charge.
Do you handle the construction itself or just the project design?
Both. We install optical cabling with our own staff, mounting, fibre splicing and testing are done in-house, not by subcontractors. If the investor uses their own capacity and only requires documentation and supervision from us, that is of course also acceptable.
What is the cost?
Depends on the scope, number of units and level of documentation. We don’t quote from the desk, after receiving your documents or a brief site visit, you’ll get a quote within 48 hours.
Where do you operate?
Throughout the Czech Republic. Our main focus is Prague and the Central Bohemian Region, where we can practically arrive for an inspection immediately.
